It's attack read something like "For 1 lightning energy and 1 colorless energy you can put as many energy cards attached to this Pokemon as you like into the lost zone. Back in HGSS the discard pile was a joke mainly because of junk arm which is a dowsing machine that you can run 4 of. The only difference between the two is that the lost zone is supposed to be harder to retrieve cards from. So out of the gate you could pick MoP, or BFA, or Cataclysm, and stay within their overall story completing zones.The lost zone is just a second discard pile that was only refrenced in HGSS cards.
The leveling revamp will bring the level cap down to 60, and allow you to play through those 60 levels in one expansion. WoD/Legion/Beefa will have larger more interconnected stories, but if you feel overwhelmed it would be fine to wait till the revamp. Does WoW have a main storyline or is it just a bunch of different zones with different stories? I also read online that at level 60 the game throws you into the Outland area which doesn’t fit into the story chronologically. I got back into the game with the intention of following the main storyline. So I did all the Bloodmyst isle quests and now I don’t know what to do next.
